Auto Glass Chip Repair

Windshield Chip Repair is a process that restores strength and improved visibility to a windshield that has been damaged, usually by a rock. Most repairs will result in 80% to 95% improvement in visibility depending on the initial damage. The chip repair process removes air in the damaged area and replaces it with a high quality glass resin that will prevent further damage and improve the finished look of the repair.

The repair is accomplished by injecting the bonding agent, called resin, into the damaged area using a vacuum process. The resin bonds the glass surfaces together from inside the chip. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the resin hardens like glass. Once repaired the chip or crack is not likely to spread any further.

Most insurance companies will waive your deductible and pay for your chip repair. They do this to help avoid costly replacement of your windshield should the damaged area spread to the point where repair is not possible. Chip repairs can be done mobile and usually take about thirty minutes.
